Leicester confirm one-year extension for Jamie Vardy after yet another formidable season as he commits until 2023 after winning the Premier League Golden Boot

Jamie Vardy has signed a one-year contract extension at Leicester City ahead of the new season.

The deal sees the 33-year-old, who won the Premier League’s Golden Boot last season after scoring 23 goals, tied down to the club until 2023.

Speaking to the club website, Vardy said: ‘The journey that I’ve been on with this football club is hard to describe, and although we’ve accomplished so much together already, I know that I’ve got so much more to achieve with this team, so it’s a special feeling to be able to commit my future to Leicester City once again.

Vardy enjoyed a monumental season with the Foxes, joining the Premier League’s 100 club

From there, he has gone on to lift both the Championship and Premier League title with the Foxes, and was part of the England squads at both Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup.

Vardy became the first ever Leicester player to score 100 goals in the Premier League when he reached the landmark last season.

Meanwhile, Luke Thomas has also signed a new deal with the club. The 19-year-old made his first Premier League start for them towards the end of last season.
