Leeds sensationally ‘trying to persuade Julian Draxler to join’ from Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain as they prepare for Premier League assault
Leeds are remarkably pushing to sign German forward Julian Draxler from Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are gearing up for the new Premier League season this weekend, when they kick off against champions Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening.
And ahead of the start of the 2020-21 campaign, Leeds are trying to convince Draxler to move to Elland Road – according to RMC Sport.
Julian Draxler has emerged as an ambitious target for Leeds ahead of Premier League season
The newly-promoted Premier League side have already proved ambitious in the summer transfer window, having signed Rodrigo for £35million from Valencia on a four-year deal.
Leeds have also wrapped up an £11.5m move for Robin Koch from Freiburg, while they have also landed Illan Meslier, Wigan prospect Joe Gelhardt and made last season’s loan of Helder Costa from Wolves permanent.
If Leeds also managed to capture the signing of Draxler, it would be some coup for Bielsa’s hugely exciting side.
However, a deal for Draxler appears hard to achieve with the 26-year-old reportedly having ‘not responded positively’ to the approach.

The German international still has 12 months remaining on his contract at the Parc des Princes, and he has no intention of leaving Paris early – having turned down a number of approaches from the Bundesliga too.
However, PSG sporting director Leonardo is looking to get Draxler out of the exit doors.
The Ligue 1 outfit are looking to raise funds from player sales to offset the financial ramifications of the coronavirus pandemic.
The German World Cup winner has scored 20 goals and produced 32 assists for PSG in 140 matches since joining in 2017.
During his time in Paris, Draxler has won three Ligue 1 titles, and as many French Cups and French League Cups.
