Former Barcelona star Malcom claims La Liga champions have contacted him over potential return… with Brazilian unsettled at Zenit Saint Petersburg after suffering racial abuse on debut
Former Barcelona attacker Malcom claims he has been contacted about a potential return to the La Liga club at the end of the season.
The 22-year-old Brazilian, who is unsettled in Russia after joining Zenit Saint Petersburg on a five-year deal in the summer, also revealed that he was weighing up a return to Spain.
Malcom had been the subject of vile racial abuse from Zenit supporters just days after completing the move, with racist banners displayed during his debut. Fans also insisted that ‘the absence of black players is an important tradition’.

The winger has made just two appearances for Sergei Samak’s side after being plagued by injuries and told RMC Sport, via Marca: ‘I have received messages about returning to Barcelona.
‘Whenever I was given a chance to play (at Barcelona) I think I did well.
‘For that reason, I believe the Barcelona fans still love me.’
However, the wantaway star also conceded that he doesn’t regret joining either Barcelona or Zenit, despite Roma believing they had wrapped up negotiations before the star’s controversial Nou Camp switch.

He added: ‘No, I don’t regret it. I’m young and I want to play anywhere, because I like football.
‘Zenit are the team who gave me the opportunity to play football.’
Malcom had burst into the spotlight after impressing with Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux across the course of three seasons before his £35million Barcelona move.
