Everton ‘lead the chase to sign unwanted Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira’ as Carlo Ancelotti looks to link up again with the World Cup winner he coached at Real Madrid
Carlo Ancelotti could be lining up another remarkable signing for Everton in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Italian publication CalcioMercato, who say the Toffees boss wants to swoop for the out-of-favour Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira.
The 33-year-old Khedira is said to favour a move to the Premier League and the publication says he has informed his agent to look for a suitor in England.

Ancelotti, who has worked hard at reshaping Everton’s midfield in his time at Goodison Park, is said to value the experience that he would add to his rebuild. He worked with Khedira during his time at Real Madrid, so knows what the midfielder can bring.
Khedira was a member of Germany’s World Cup winning side in 2014, scoring in their shock 7-1 semi-final win over hosts Brazil, but was injured for the final itself.
The 77-cap Germany man has fallen by the wayside in Andrea Pirlo’s ruthless restructuring at Juventus and the report adds that Pirlo has told him he is free to leave.
Indeed, Khedira has not featured once for Juventus so far in the 2020-21 campaign and is not expected to between now and the January window opening.
The Italian publication say that he has been training regularly with the Juventus squad and is in good shape but Pirlo does not see him as a part of his plans.
