Bruno Fernandes believes Manchester United CAN win the Premier League this season, claiming the Red Devils ‘have the chance’ to end an eight-year wait for a 21st title

Bruno Fernandes hopes to inspire Manchester United to a Premier League title charge after picking up his third player of the month award since his January arrival.

The midfielder has quickly emerged as one of the club’s most important players in less than a year and that has been reflected by landing yet another personal accolade.

By winning player of the month for November, Fernandes is the first player to win the award three times in one year following Harry Kane in 2017.

He also won the award following his first full month at Old Trafford in February and also the next allocation of the award in June when the season resumed following March’s coronavirus outbreak.

But now the 26-year-old is ready to pick up honours with Manchester United after turning his sights toward what he states is his primary goal of winning the Premier League after reflecting on his personal success.

‘It’s difficult to have one of these, so I’m really proud to have my third one,’ Fernandes told the Premier League.

United have not added to their record 20 domestic titles since winning the Premier League under Sir Alex Ferguson for the final time in the 2012-13 campaign

‘I will be happy when I win the Premier League. The point to come to England, to such a huge club, was to win the Premier League and I think we have the chance to do it.’

With Fernandes unable to prevent United from crashing out of the Champions League group stage midweek, the Red Devils are now expected to make the Premier League title chase their sole priority for the remainder of the campaign.

Since winning the Premier League for the final time under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, the Red Devils have hardly been in contention to add to their record 20 league titles, despite a distant runners-up finish under Jose Mourinho in 2018

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s (above) side now face a crucial derby against local rivals Man City

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side face a crucial test on Saturday evening when they face Manchester City at Old Trafford in the Manchester derby.

United head into the game sixth in the table, a point and place above Pep Guardiola’s men.

However they also have a game in hand with the rest of their rivals above them and three points would take them into the top four and just two points behind pace setters Tottenham Hotspur.
