Atletico Madrid ‘keeping tabs on Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette’ as Diego Simeone looks ahead to summer rebuild after miserable LaLiga season
Atletico Madrid are ‘keeping a keen eye on Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette’ as Diego Simeone plans a shake-up at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Atletico have endured a difficult season in LaLiga and are well off the pace of Real Madrid and Barcelona, despite both heavyweights also struggling on the pitch.
Many of Atletico’s problems have come in the striker department, with a mixture of injuries and poor form severely limiting their goal tally in the Spanish top flight. They have the second-worst goal tally of the teams in the top half of the table with 31 in 27 matches.

Diego Simeone is reportedly keen on the Frenchman as he eyes a summer rebuild at Atletico
With that in mind, Mundo Deportivo report that Atletico are watching Lacazette closely ahead of a potential summer swoop for the Arsenal star.
It has been reported that Lacazette was high on their wish-list in January, but the club instead focused their efforts on an eventually fruitless chase for Edinson Cavani.
Frenchman Lacazette has been at Arsenal since 2017, but only has seven goals in 20 Premier League appearances this season and has fallen out of favour with new boss Mikel Arteta.
